Professor Cheng is credited with ‘popularising’ Tai Chi after he started teaching it to western students in the U.S. in the 1960’s

Realising that there was much repetition in the traditional form that was taught, he created a version of the Yang-style form which has since been adopted world-wide by thousands of teachers,.

Still encompassing many of the traditional elements, this form takes about 8 minutes to perform and it is most peoples’ introduction to Tai Chi.

With diligence and application the mechanics of this form can be learned quite quickly - learning to relax, to breathe properly and to allow your body to become fluid takes considerably longer, but the effort is worth it.
